Decade to Doorways is hosting the 7th annual Chester County landlord forum on October 18th, 2016. The forum is designed to give landlords the opportunity to listen to informational sessions, network, learn about beneficial services in the community, receive resources and ask questions. Over 70 landlords attended the forum last year; they are committed to helping reduce and eliminate homelessness in Chester County.
Breakfast and orientation will begin at 8:30 am. With a raffel/prize giveaway at 12:30 PM.
The presenters at the forum come from all different backgrounds in the community, and are knowledgeable on a variety of topics; including legal issues. The landlords have the ability to bolster their knowledge and ask the experts any questions they may have.
One of the panels we will be offering is the Landlord Best Practices Panel. It is a panel of legal experts who come together to address common landlord mistakes and what steps can be taken to avoid them. You will learn how to be proactive in terms of leasing, maintenance, proper evictions and security deposit funds.
If you have a specfic question already in mind for the Landlord Best Practices Panel please e-mail it to RStewart@haccnet.org prior to the event with ATTN: Landlord Forum as the subject. Since there will be such a large group attending all questions asked will need to be e-mailed in advance.
Homelessness is an issue that affects every community in the country, and Chester County is no different. In the last 18 months only one household out of 240 was evicted. This could not be done without the strong collaboration with local landlords which is reinforced at the landlord forum.
